Introduction to Happy Thoughts with Hannah

Hi! Welcome to the first post of my blog, Happy Thoughts with Hannah! My name is Hannah Burrell, and here you will find all things happy and positive speaking as I spread God's light in hopes that the Gospel speaks to all of you in many different ways.

For those who may be wondering as you're reading this, you're probably like, "Hannah why the title?" Well, I always try to have a positive mindset whether it would be on good days or bad days, and for each day when I wake up, I always try to seek something positive to look forward to whether it's a phone call from a friend or family member, tidying up my room, eating a healthy breakfast, having the time to read a good book, write, etc. I mean anything makes me happy honestly. What I've realized is that you'll be able to do things with a happier mindset and all the negative thoughts will soon fade when you're in a good mood. Even when I have a bad day from the moment I wake up to the moment I'm about to go to bed, I'll sit and reflect on all the things I've done that day, and think to myself, "Yes, today's events sucked, but tomorrow's events will be even better." And then I go to bed thanking God for even just allowing Him to wake me up, in hope that tomorrow is a better day.

Despite the title, my main objective for my blog is to spread positivity and light in ways that God intends it. I want people who read this blog to be affected positively and lead be to Christ as well. That's what being a Christian is all about. I want to be an example of leading people to Jesus every single day by letting His love and light shine through me.

With it being the first post, I thought that now since I shared a little bit of the background about my blog, I thought it would be perfect to now share a little bit about myself. If you can't tell by the color of my blog, my favorite color is yellow. I'm 19 years old and will be a rising Sophomore at Florida Atlantic University and will actually be living there on campus. I'm majoring in Multimedia Studies Journalism with a soon-to-be minor in Theater because to be quite honest with you, I'm not sure what I want to do as far as career-wise. I know I want to stay in the performing arts or within the artistic realm, but it can be a little too overwhelming for me; when I want to have a career in writing, publishing books, being a screenplay writer, or even being a journalist. With that many career paths, I figured it would be perfect to have both my major and minor give me the inside scoop of everything so that later on I can narrow it down and finally decide (with God's help of course) what I want to do. As far as living the college life goes, I had to stay home my Freshmen Year and finish my first year online as I couldn't be on campus due to my surgery and having to go through therapy and the risks of not catching Covid. I'm not going to lie, it sucked having to do Freshmen Year remotely and having to miss out on your first-year college experience, but I know that everything happens for a reason and that God had a better plan for me. If you come to think of it, even though I'm enrolling into my Sophomore Year, technically speaking I am going to be living my first-year college experience with it being my actual first time living on the college campus. Another thing about me is that I love to read and write!! If I'm not planning out my next blog post, you'll find me reading a new book or writing in one of my many journals. I love to even create and capture memories. Being able to take pictures of everything I see: whether that would be the sunrise, the sunset, the ocean, my family, my friends, etc. Anything that showcases God's creation in which He Himself has made. {Genesis 1:3-9} In which I know that one day I'll look back and want to see those pictures so that I can visually relive those moments as if time never stopped. It's pretty common in a teenage girl's life, but I love coffee!! Not decaf because it doesn't do anything for me. Seriously. I can't live without it. Especially in the mornings when I just woke up because it just puts me in the best mood. Even comes in handy during exams and finals week. With all these things listed, this pretty much describes me in just a few words or so, but don't worry in just a few posts, later on, you'll get the full story of who I am.

I hope you all find this first post of Happy Thoughts with Hannah to fill out how my blog came to life and learn a little bit about me! I can't wait to dive deeper with you all as I share my uplighting thoughts while also spreading God's truth. Even with me soon going to be on campus, I'll even share a little bit about my college life as well, so be sure to look out for that too! In the meantime keep thinking happy thoughts and God bless.

With love,

Hannah

Usually every year, I dread Valentine's Day. The chocolates, teddy bears, the flowers, the Instagram stories or posts from the girlfriend...
